Seeking a highly skilled and driven Paralegal to join the Entertainment & Media practice group in Los Angeles. This role is pivotal in supporting our entertainment & media clients and ensuring seamless contract negotiations through expertise, responsiveness, exceptional organizational skills, and a first-class commitment to client service. In supporting our clients, you will work as part of a team providing specialized support for production companies and talent, on marquee projects for premier distributors, networks, and streaming platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the lifecycle of production agreements, such as vendors, locations, crew members, department heads, music licenses, clearances and the like.
- Draft, revise, negotiate, and finalize various agreements, legal documents, and correspondence for film, television, digital media, and new media talent.
- Communicate with entertainment labor unions such as SAG-AFTRA, DGA and WGA.
- Conduct legal research and provide support on various legal matters related to media productions and labor union compliance.
- Maintain and update contract templates and status reports.
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal standards and firm policies.
- Demonstrate a positive, client-focused attitude in all client interactions.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, contract administrator or the like in the entertainment industry.
- Working knowledge of entertainment law and media production processes.
- Law Firm experience Ideal.
- Experience in U.S. Copyright Office filings (e.g. Form PA, Document Recordation).
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
